Arsenic Removal Plant
Reliable Solution for Safe & Arsenic-Free Drinking Water
An Arsenic Removal Plant is a specialized water treatment system designed to effectively remove arsenic from groundwater or contaminated surface water. Arsenic contamination is a serious health hazard, especially in parts of India and Southeast Asia, where naturally occurring arsenic in groundwater can lead to long-term exposure and severe health conditions, including cancer, skin lesions, and organ damage.
Our arsenic removal systems are designed to meet WHO and BIS drinking water standards, ensuring safe and potable water for rural and urban communities, schools, hospitals, and industries.

How Zeo Life Arsenic Removal Plant works
The plant uses a multi-stage filtration process, typically including the following:
- Pre-Treatment:
- Removal of suspended solids, turbidity, and iron (which can interfere with arsenic removal).
- Optional pH correction and oxidation step using chlorine or aeration to convert arsenite (As³⁺) to arsenate (As⁵⁺), which is easier to remove.
- Arsenic Adsorption / Filtration:
- The key stage involves passing water through a special media bed that adsorbs arsenic ions from the water.
- Common media used include activated alumina, iron oxide-coated sand, granular ferric hydroxide (GFH), or synthetic adsorbents.
- This stage ensures arsenic is removed to levels below 0.01 mg/L (10 ppb), which complies with WHO standards.
- Post-Treatment / Polishing:
- Final filtration for taste, odor, and color improvement.
- Optional disinfection via UV or chlorination to remove bacteria and ensure long-term storage safety.
Advantages of Arsenic Removal Plant
- Highly Efficient
- Removes both Arsenite (As³⁺) and Arsenate (As⁵⁺) up to 99%.
- Output arsenic level: < 10 ppb (complies with WHO & BIS 10500:2012 norms).
- Environmentally Safe
- Non-toxic filtration media, safe disposal methods.
- No use of harmful chemicals in regular operation.
- Low Maintenance
- Simple design for easy media replacement.
- Minimal moving parts, long media life
- Cost-Effective
- Low operational cost compared to RO or ion-exchange systems.
- No electricity needed for gravity-based designs.
